Chief Alan C. Youngs is a practicing attorney and expert witness in police policy and procedure. He is the former Chief of the Lakewood Colorado Police Department in Denver, retiring after 33 years of service.
As an attorney, Chief Youngs defends police officers, municipalities and counties, and serves as a law enforcement expert witness in police policies, procedures, use of force, training and police academies. He has also served as a Police Advisor to the U.S. Department of Justice and to law enforcement agencies in both Central and South America.
In addition to his law degree, Chief Youngs has a master’s in Public Administration and a bachelor’s in Political Science, and is a graduate of the FBI National Academy, 166th Session.
